What To Look For In A Window Installment Company

Window Installment ComPAny Replacement Windows And Doors Conshohocken PA

Not all window companies are the same. Here are a few things to look for in the company you choose to do business with.

Look out for dealers who only offer you one product

Each homeowner’s situation is different. Make sure when shopping for windows you do not get pushed into one specific product. At Energy Windows Doors & More we offer a full line of premium vinyl or composite window and door styles to cater to the specific requirements of each homeowner.

Watch out for financing specials and inflated prices

It’s become very common for window companies to advertise, “no interest” and “no payments” only to tie you into an inflated finance payment upon arrival. Make sure you are paying for the value of the product instead of the big company’s sales commissions. At Energy Windows Doors & More, we offer fair, honest, and upfront prices for premium products with a quality install that we stand behind.

Make sure your window dealer has a strong relationship with their manufacturer

At Energy Windows Doors & More we have a combined 30 years of experience in the window industry. This has allowed us to form great relationships with all of our manufacturers. What is most important to us is that you, the customer, are satisfied with the entire experience from the start. We make sure that each product we provide is backed by a strong warranty to cover any future issues that may arise. We are always there to provide excellent service to you even after the job is finished. We stand behind the quality of our manufacturers which helps us maintain our reputation.

What To Look For In A Quality Window

Quality Window Replacement Windows And Doors Conshohocken PA

From materials to sizes, we’re here to help clarify the key factors to look for in your window search.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with information when dealing with something seemingly simple like a window. Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies out there that are trying to push sub-par products onto unknowing customers. Fortunately, we’re here to help! We’ve compiled a checklist of the important qualities to look for in a replacement window.

Low-E Glass

Low emissivity glass will help to reflect heat and keep your home cooler throughout the summer months. It is a microscopically thin layer which is applied to the glass that reflects long wave infrared energy, or heat, while keeping the inside of your home at the desired temperature.

Low-E U-Factor

In our region, an energy star window is required to have a .30 or lower U-Factor. The lower the U-Factor the higher the performance of the product. We recommend a U-Factor of .27 or less in the northeast region and have a variety of options to get your U-Factor as low as possible.

Argon or Krypton Gas

On a double pane window, you will want to have Argon gas in between the two panes of glass. Argon gas is denser than oxygen which will improve the thermal insulation efficiency. On a triple pane window, we recommend having a blend of 45% Argon Gas and 45% krypton gas which will give you the optimum performance. Krypton gas is similar to Argon gas just a better insulator. Both Argon and Krypton gas will contribute to the windows overall U-factor.

Composite Reinforced

Your windows I-beam should be composite reinforced to ensure the integrity of the window. We do not recommend metal reinforced products because metal is a conductor of both heat and cold.

Triple weather stripping around sashes

Help to stop drafts and to ensure a tight seal of your entire window.

Multi chambered frame design or foam filled sashes and frame

Preventing airflow through the window.

Streamline Design

This will give you the most amount of surface area on your window with glass rather than vinyl to optimize your view and natural light into your home.

Vent Latches

Allow airflow into your home without opening the bottom sash of your window completely.

Vinyl vs. Composite Windows. What’s the difference?

Composite Materials Replacement Windows And Doors Conshohocken PA

Vinyl windows have been around for a long time for the simple fact that they are a great option. The construction is strong, they can be adapted to fit virtually any opening, and come in an array of colors and styles to ensure the homeowner will find something that fits the look and feel of their home.

Composite windows are a newer option in the grand scheme of window installation. The material is made from more of an impact resistant composite making it a good option for those at the shore points and are vulnerable to coastal storms. This isn’t to say they are hurricane proof, but they do provide a bit more resistance when compared to traditional vinyl.

Composite windows don’t have the versatility in options that vinyl windows offer. Composite windows typically give the appearance of a wood style window but without the maintenance that comes with wood. This makes composite a good option for people who have a more historic style home where vinyl options may look out of place.

Vinyl windows are also cheaper than composite windows, but by no means does that equate to  quality sacrifice. Both windows offer great energy efficiency options, durability, and maintenance. It all comes down to what works best for you and your home.

Replacing windows isn’t always as simple as it may seem at first. There are an array options to consider when deciding what’s best for your situation. We pride ourselves on making the process simple and your experience satisfactory. We only supply vinyl and composite windows from our reputable, premium [manufacturers] who we’ve worked closely with for decades. Efficient Windows Replacement Windows And Doors Conshohocken PA

Although it might not be the most obvious solution for saving money on your utility bills, replacing the windows in your home for energy efficient windows has a noticeable impact on your monthly spend.

How Does it Save Me Money?

Have you ever felt a slight draft coming in from the edges of a sealed window? How about the difference in temperature when you feel the window frame compared to the wall?

These are the tangible signs of your windows loosing valuable heat or that comfortable cool air through your windows…even if they’re closed.

Certified energy efficient windows are created with materials designed to keep the temperature of your home consistent, without loosing air and power to the elements outside.

Low-E Glass

One of the key components in an energy efficient window is something called “Low-E” glass, which is short for low emissivity glass, protects the window in a microscopic coating that deflects the temperatures outside of your home, and reflects the interior temperatures back inside.

Saving Money…And Furniture?

Another benefit of an energy efficient window is its ability to deflect the harsh UV rays from the sun without loosing any natural light. These UV rays are responsible for the fading effect on carpets and furniture that are in view from the window. Energy efficient windows dramatically reduce fading when compared to standard windows.

With energy efficient windows you can save money, furniture, and most importantly, resources for the planet. All of the windows we offer are energy efficient and at the best prices in the market! Call or click below to get a free, no obligation quote on replacing your windows today!
