Vinyl Window Materials

Vinyl Windows

Most replacement windows use vinyl and vinyl is our recommended window material. Our manufacturers use virgin vinyl (PVC), which is the strongest vinyl formulation on the market. PVC tends to be the best insulator and doesn’t swell and shrink from temperature fluctuations like other materials.

Composite Wood Window Material

Composite Windows

Our composite windows use CompositWood, a revolutionary material using a mix of specialty polymer and acrylic resins, that makes a super tough material. Using SuperCap™ technology allows our composite windows keeps color for years to come. If you want the best windows on the market, composite replacement windows are what we suggest.

Single Hung Windows

Fiberglass Windows

Fiberglass windows are framed on the exterior with fiberglass while the inside uses real wood or wood veneer. The fiberglass is made by combining glass fibers and resin with our suppliers’ proprietary formulas offering different strengths and weaknesses. Compared to composite windows, fiberglass tends to come in at a lower price point and requires much less maintenance.

Window Materials FAQs

At Energy Windows, Doors, and More, we specialize in and recommend vinyl replacement windows. The vinyl windows that we carry are some of the most durable on the market. They’re reinforced, meaning changes in temperature and weather conditions will not cause them to sag or chip. Our vinyl windows also have titanium oxide in its pigment so that it maintains its color for years to come.

Our composite replacement windows are a mixture of vinyl and other materials, which are believed to add strength to the window. That being said, they tend to be very heavy and hard to tilt in. Fiberglass replacement windows come in at the best price point, but extreme swings in weather can cause them to crack.

Our manufacturers’ material formulas are made to have some of the best quality and energy efficiency ratings in the country.

The glass in our windows typically come in 2 panes with argon gas pumped in between them. This helps the windows conduct heat and cold much better, providing better insulation. An added bonus of the 2 panes is reduced sound from the outdoors if you wish to have your home be quieter.
